SAT OVERVIEW

The SAT stands for Scholastic Aptitude Test. It is administered by the ETS and is commonly used as an entry requirement to undergraduate programs offered by universities in the US. In Singapore, applicants are encouraged to submit the SAT when applying to the Singapore Management University (SMU). The National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) may require the SAT from their applicants who are non-Singaporeans and/or international students.

The new SAT 1 as of 2005 has 3 sections: Reading, Math and Writing, and each section is scored over 800, giving a total score of 2400. The 3.5 hour paper-and-pencil test is made up of multiple-choice questions, grid-in student response questions and 1 essay.

Contrary to popular belief, the SAT is not an intelligence test. It IS a test of your critical reasoning skills. To score well on the test, knowing the structure, instructions and mindset of the test makers is imperative! And because the SAT is a time-pressure test (approximately 1 minute per question), making use of unorthodox solving strategies that save time and energy is the only way to beat the SAT! We aim to impart these strategies through our proven and rigorous programs.
