GMAT OVERVIEW

From 2006, the administrator of the the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is changed from Educational Testing Service (ETS) to Pearson VUE. The structure and logical patterns behind the test, however, remain the same.

GMAT is a standardized assessment that helps business schools assess the qualifications of their applicants, by serving as one predictor of academic performance in an MBA or in other graduate management programs. While a high GMAT score is essential in getting into top programs, admission officers tell us that the merit of each application is also dependent on other criteria such as professional experience and the GPA of the undergraduate degree.

The GMAT consists of three main parts, the Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA), the Quantitative section, and the Verbal section. The AWA is scored on a scale of 0-6, while the other 2 sections are scored over 400 each, giving a total score of 800. The 3.5 hour computer adaptive test is made up of multiple-choice questions and 2 essays. The total scaled score of the Quantitative and Verbal sections will be available at the end of the test. Official scores, which includes the AWA score, will be released within 2 weeks after the test date, and will be valid for 5 years.

Contrary to popular belief, the GMAT is not an intelligence test. It IS a test of your reasoning and analytical skills in Quantitative and Verbal topics.

To score well on the test, knowing the structure, instructions and mindset of the test makers is imperative! And because the GMAT is a time-pressure test (test takers have less than 2 minutes per question), making use of unorthodox solving strategies that save time and energy is the only way to beat the GMAT! We aim to impart these strategies through our proven and rigorous programs
